Privacy Policy
Dayloom is built around a simple principle: a journal should feel private, because it is. We don't collect your data, we don't store it on our servers, and we don't share it with anyone. Here's the long version.
1. Who we are
Dayloom (the "App") is published by Malave.Tech LLC, a New York limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how Dayloom handles information when you use the App on iPhone. It applies to the App only and not to any other product or service.
2. Information we collect
Dayloom does not collect any personal information. The App does not transmit any data, analytics, telemetry, crash reports, advertising identifiers, location, contact information, or usage data to Malave.Tech LLC or to any server we control.
This statement matches the data disclosures we have provided to Apple in App Store Connect under "App Privacy" (Data Not Collected).
3. Information stored on your device
Your journal entries — every word, every date, and any photos you attach — are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard on-device storage (Core Data / SwiftData with optional iCloud backing, see Section 4). This data never leaves your device unless you choose to enable iCloud sync, export an entry, or share an entry yourself.
4. Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync within Dayloom (off by default), your journal entries are stored in your private iCloud account so they can be accessed across the Apple devices signed in to the same Apple ID. We never receive, access, or read this data. Your entries remain encrypted in transit and at rest under Apple's iCloud security model.
iCloud is operated by Apple Inc., not by Malave.Tech LLC. Apple's handling of your iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud Terms, both of which provide privacy and data-protection commitments at least equal to those described in this policy and required by Apple's App Store Review Guidelines. Apple is the only third party that may have access to your data, and only through this optional, user-initiated sync feature.
You can turn iCloud sync off at any time within the App's settings, or by signing the App out of iCloud in your device's iCloud settings.
5. Third parties and AI
Dayloom does not share your data with any third parties. Specifically:
- No third-party analytics SDKs (no Google, Meta, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, etc.).
- No advertising trackers, no advertising identifiers (IDFA), no cross-app tracking via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. We do not request tracking permission because we do not track.
- No third-party AI services. Your journal entries are never sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other AI provider for processing, summarization, or any other purpose.
- No social-network integrations that share data outside the App.
- No automatic crash reporting outside of Apple's own opt-in App Analytics, which you control through your iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
6. Data retention and deletion
Because all your data lives on your device, deletion is fully under your control. To delete data:
- Delete an individual entry: swipe left on the entry in the timeline and tap Delete, or open the entry and tap the trash icon.
- Delete all entries: open Dayloom → Settings → Data → "Delete all entries."
- Delete everything, including the App: uninstall Dayloom by long-pressing the app icon on your Home Screen and choosing Remove App → Delete App. This removes all local data. If iCloud sync is enabled, also remove the data from iCloud via your device's iCloud settings.
Because we do not collect or store any personal data on our servers, we have no records to retain or delete on your behalf — there is no developer-side database, no backup, and no log to request deletion from.
7. Children
Dayloom is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from anyone of any age (see Section 2). The App is rated for general audiences. If you are a parent or guardian with questions about your child's use of the App, contact us at the email below.
8. Your rights under data protection laws
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR): Because we do not collect or process your personal data, the typical GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority) are not engaged with respect to data held by us. Your data lives on your device and is yours to access, correct, export, and delete at any time.
California (CCPA / CPRA): Within the past twelve months, we have not collected any categories of personal information from California consumers. We have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond what is permitted under the CCPA. As a result, the typical CCPA rights (know, delete, correct, opt-out) are not engaged with respect to data held by us.
9. Security
Because the App holds your data on your device, the security of your entries depends on the security of your device. We strongly recommend using a device passcode or biometric lock and keeping iOS up to date. If you enable iCloud sync, your data benefits from iCloud's transport and at-rest encryption.
10. Changes to this policy
If our practices ever change — for example, if a future version adds a feature that requires data collection or third-party processing — we will update this page and the effective date above. For material changes, we will surface a notice in the App before you next use it, and we will update the App Store Connect privacy disclosures to match.
